Jet Plane

Dear Aidan,

Last weekend we took you on your first airplane ride. Daddy and I were beyond worried about how you'd do. Would taking off and landing scare you? Would the pressure from being up so high make your ears hurt? Would you be angry because you couldn't get down and play like you do at home? And do you know what? You were fine. You slept through almost every part of every flight and didn't throw any fits. Even with all of the issues we had getting to San Diego, you were a trooper. We were so proud of you!

You got to meet your Nana and Papa for the first time too. They love you so much and were so happy to finally get to hug and kiss you. You even ran right to Papa at one point for him to pick you up. You met all of my aunts and uncles as well as most of my cousins. They couldn't believe how much cuter in person you are. You also got you your first kiss from a girl (we'll count it since even though she's family, it's through marriage). Daddy and I were again impressed with how well you did with so many new people all over you.

You went on your first trolley ride but missed your first trip to the beach. That trolley just lulled you right to sleep, and none of us had the heart to wake you. You got your first bit of sunburn, but it wasn't bad and may have actually alone been redness from all of the hot weather.

We're hoping that the next time we go out there to see family, we'll get to take you to Disneyland for the first time and maybe Sea World and the San Diego Zoo too. We'll also make sure you're awake and happy so you can finally play at the beach.

Love,
Mama
